The Challenge

bol.com is the dominant e-commerce platform in the Benelux, with over 10 million monthly visitors and 30,000+ third-party sellers. The Plaza seller dashboard had to surface order management, product listings, and performance analytics in real time for all those merchants. On the consumer side, every pixel of the webshop was A/B tested, and even small regressions could impact millions in revenue.

My Contribution

Built core frontend modules for the Plaza seller dashboard: real-time order tracking, product listing management, and interactive sales analytics with drill-down charts. These components processed thousands of concurrent WebSocket updates without jank.

On the consumer webshop, implemented responsive product pages, search result layouts, and checkout-flow improvements, all behind feature flags and A/B tests. Created a shared component library with documentation that was adopted across four frontend squads.

Key Results

  • Seller dashboard used daily by 30,000+ merchants for order and product management
  • A/B-tested checkout improvements contributing to measurable conversion uplift
  • Shared component library adopted across four frontend squads, reducing duplication
  • Real-time order tracking handling thousands of concurrent WebSocket updates
